According to Kaphotics, Protective Pads' fling power is 30 rather than 80, taken from the data in the SM demo. Did this get changed in between games, or is the fling power information on the page wrong in general? Knuckstrike (talk) 07:02, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
Might have written it wrong on my notebook when I was doing the calcs or when moving numbers from it to the page. But yes, it's in fact 30. Definitely not 80. --Flygon 7 (talk) 01:02, 2 June 2018 (UTC)What About Status Moves?
So does this mean that protective pads don't protect from status moves like taunt and encore? And when u mean contact moves does that include physical move's effects like Fake Out causing 100% flinch chance? HappyDuckJJ (talk) 20:47, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
There are no status moves that make contact. The Fake Out example is incorrect. Protect Pads have no effect on the secondary effects of moves. However, if a Pokémon holding Protective Pads uses Fake Out on a Pokémon with Gooey, Gooey will not decrease that Pokémon's Speed. --SnorlaxMonster 11:32, 20 February 2020 (UTC)Ooh ok thank you. I misread what the wiki page said. HappyDuckJJ (talk) 12:13, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
Tough Claws
If a Pokémon with tough claws holding protective pads uses a contact move, does it get the tough claws boost? Cobalt-dj (talk) 11:08, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
